The destruction of the glacier in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli has resulted in heavy destruction and havoc. The flash- flood hit Tapovan- hydel project tunnel in which 35 workers were trapped on Sunday. The rescue operation is still underway. A joint team of ITBP, NDRF, and other agencies conducting rescue operation.

According to information, after the mishap, 206 people were said to be missing from different places. Two of them informed the authority that they were safe. So far, 34 bodies have been recovered by the search team and 170 were still missing. The identities of 10 of the deceased have been established so far. Two of deceased were Uttarakhand police head constable Manoj Chaudhary and Constable Balbir Singh Gadhiya.
