The Telangana government has agreed to provide Rs 7,300 crore financial support under the ‘Rythu Bandhu’ scheme from December 27 to January 7 in an effort to benefit farmers.

Earlier this month, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, popularly known as KCR, instructed the officials concerned to ensure that assistance was given to each and every farmer in the state.

For the procurement of crops, fertilizers, chemicals, labor and other investments, beneficiary farmers will earn a sum at the rate of Rs 5,000 per acre per season (crop-sowing) directly into their bank accounts.

Assistance would first be offered to farmers who have less land holdings. Both farmers are supposed to get support in 10 days.

This is the second installment of the 2020 investment funding granted to farmers. In the bank accounts, the first instalment was credited with 50.88
In particular, following the coronavirus pandemic, district collectors, agricultural department officials and banks were directed to ensure that farmers comply with the COVID-19 criteria when the amount released in accordance with the Rythu Bandhu scheme is withdrawn from their bank accounts.

The volume available at 4,860 post offices in rural areas can be withdrawn from micro ATMs by those who are unable to access banks.
