Bharatiya Janata Party MP and Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur’s accused Malegaon blasts have waded into controversy for calling Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse “a patriot.”

The notorious BJP chief has repeatedly named Godse a deshbhakt, revered by the Hindu Mahasabha, also once in Parliament, for which she has had to apologize for ‘hurting feelings.’
“Dekho aisa hai, Congress ne deshbhakto ko humesha se gaaliyaan di hain…bhagwa aatank tak keh diya usne, issey zyada nikrisht’ta kya hogi (Congress has always abused patriots. They have even called it ‘saffron terrorism’. How worse can it get?),” she said when asked about the Congress party calling Godse “India’s first terrorist”.

“She responded to comments on social media platform Twitter on Wednesday by Congress MP Digvijaya Singh, where he asked those hailing Godse to “show some pride.

Mahamana Madan Mohan Malaviya ji, a disciple and companion of Mahatma Gandhi, who founded the Hindu Mahasabha, has served three times as President of the All India Congress. Today, the people of the killer of Mahatma Gandhi!! Have some shame. Whose hidden agenda is behind this?” Singh asked on Twitter.
