SWIFT 2021SWIFT 2021

Report by Tanya Singh:

The big change with the Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift is the older K-series engine being replaced by the more powerful 1.2-litre DualJet petrol unit. The country’s largest car maker on Wednesday launched new version of its popular hatchback car Swift, at a starting price of Rs 5.73 lakh.

The 2021 Maruti Swift facelift is available in 3 trim levels – LXI, VXI and ZXI – and in total of 9 variants. It is a mid-life update that will keep Swift fresh for a couple of more years. The updated, facelifted version gets a more powerful engine apart from visual changes. The new Swift is equipped with the next generation of K-Series Dual Jet Dual VVT engine with Idle Start Stop (ISS) technology.

The company claims that the Dual Jet technology (2 injectors per cylinder), coupled with Dual VVT (variable valve timing for both Intake and Exhaust valves) and cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system result in higher fuel efficiency with lower emissions. The company claims a fuel efficiency of 23.20 km/l in MT and 23.76 km/l in AGS variants for an unmatched drive. Available in both Manual and Automatic Gear Shift (AGS) variants, the new K-series engine also offers an increased power output of 66KW@6000rpm.
