Despite protests from local people, the planned Indian Institute of Technology campus in Sattari taluka in Goa will emerge and all their demands will be addressed, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Sunday.
He said he had visited the Shel-Maulim location where the IIT is supposed to arrive.
We are able to meet the demands of the locals. It has not scrapped the idea. Construction formalities are going on,’ said the CM, who also added that as part of the IIT programme, a police outpost was coming up in the village.
For the last four months, residents in the city have been demonstrating at the site against the project and stalling construction, officials said.
