A massive fire broke at Gate 1 of Serum Institute of India in Pune this afternoon. The fire outbreak in an under-construction building and no person was trapped inside, according to the reports. The same institute is behind the manufacturing of Oxford-AstraZeneca’s Covishield vaccine against coronavirus.
However, the production is safe from the fire as fire broke out in a different building. The building where the fire broke was adjacent to the plant where the vaccine is getting manufactured. The reason for the fire has not been out yet. However, The Fire and Rescue team are at the spot and working toward calling off the Fire. The fire was so intense that a black thick cloud of smoke has surrounded the area.
